Valledoria

Valledoria historically marks the boundaries between the Sassarese region and the Gallura region.
The origin of the name goes back to 1960 when three locations merged into one (cordadura, la muddizza, la ciccia). It’s original toponym which the town was known with was Codaruina (coda/tail + ruina/ruin) which refers to the outskirts of the ruins of the ancient city of Ampurias.
